Types of Classes
Music
Music classes are held either outdoors at a playground or a local Chicago business. Join us for a 40-45 minute class filled with dancing, singing and a whole lot of fun! Musicians include Michael’s Music Machine, Music with Mr. Ray and more!
Activity
Activity classes are held either outdoors at a playground or at a local Chicago business. These classes have included music and movement with Skip & Scoot, an energy burning class and open play with My Gym Chicago and local fire house tours. Invite a friend and join us!
Educational
Educational classes are more so for parents and caretakers. Prior classes include car seat safety, CPR, yoga and breath work, fitness classes and more!
Meet The Slivka’s
Meet Monica & Daniel Slivka
In 2020 when all classes were shut down, Monica and Dan were in need of a community of families with their then 6 month old daughter inspiring the creation of Songs ‘n Swings. A class series designed to keep parents, caretakers and children engaged through music and activity classes outdoors. Through Instagram, Monica was able to connect with local business owners, musicians and children entertainers. In trading evening networking events for a morning of music and movement with their daughter, Monica and Daniel were able to connect with other families and build the Songs ‘n Swings community. Fast forward a few years to a network of local families connecting with each other at classes in Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Andersonville and Edgewater! Classes are complimentary for families sponsored by Monica and Daniel or local businesses and vendors.
