What started as a passion project has grown into something much bigger. We're proud of how far we've come, and even more excited about what's ahead.
In 2020, when every class in the city shut down, Monica and Daniel were new parents to a six-month-old daughter and looking for a community of families to connect with. That need became Songs 'n Swings, an outdoor class series of music and movement designed to keep parents, caretakers, and little ones engaged and together.
Through social media platforms, Monica connected with local business owners, musicians, and children's entertainers who shared the vision. Instead of evening networking events, Monica and Daniel spent their mornings singing and dancing alongside their daughter, and in the process built lasting relationships with families across the neighborhood.
Today, Songs 'n Swings is a thriving network of local families gathering at indoor & outdoor classes in Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Andersonville, and Edgewater. Most classes are complimentary for families, sponsored by Monica and Daniel along with local businesses and vendors who believe in bringing the community together.
